Most of the top lochan is now clear and the bottom lochan is starting to thaw. Fish are showing on the top.

About a third of the top lochan has thawed overnight and the current temperature means more will thaw throughout the day.  It is not exactly Eskimo fishing but we have opened the gate for anyone looking to add a trout to the Christmas dinner table!

Most of the top lochan is frozen and the bottom lochan is completely covered with a thin layer of ice. It’s unlikely that much of this ice will clear today so we are going to remain closed. Check the blog for further updates.
