Before the heat began, the group paid their respects to the late Gordon Haggart, with a glass raised in his honour.
The heat got underway at a frenetic pace, with 10 fish taken during the first peg. In peg two, Dean Geddes took his second fish of the day (5lb 3oz) to finish with a total bag of 7lb 15oz. This proved to be the winning total, with Jamie MacGregor Snr second and Jimmy Cooper third.
For the first time this year, all competitors made it onto the board!
Jamie's second place now means that he goes into the final heat with an unassailable lead and will be crowned 2025 Dunlichity Cup winner. Either Alan McMurchy or Dean Geddes will be runner-up, with 11 others in with a chance of winning one of the further five prizes.
The final heat of this year's competition will be on Saturday 1 November at 09.00.
