We have had a "good weather" day today, with no more rain and drying temperatures.
Unless we have unexpected heavy rain overnight, we will be opening again tomorrow (Sunday).
Our apologies to any of our customers who have not been able to fish over the last few days.

Edit Post
Heavy rainfall over the past two days has further saturated the Lochan banks. In addition, local access roads have been closed due to flooding. As a result, we will remain closed over the weekend and review the situation on Sunday evening. Apologies to all who want to fish!

As the result of the heavy rain that we have experienced over recent days, the lochan banks are now saturated and, as a result, we are remaining closed today. The forecast is for more heavy rain over the next few days, so keep an eye on the blog for information on when we will be reopening.

Liam Skinner won the 2011 Dunlichity Cup competition in dramatic style.

The cup competition is competed for over 8 individual seven peg heats during which competitors take two fish. Prizes are awarded for the largest bags in each heat, with the season winner being the competitor with the largest cumulative bag over the 8 heats.
Liam missed the first heat of the season, and saw his father and 2010 Champion David Skinner move into pole position after the first few heats. Also in close contention throughout the season were Bill Greig, Robert Todd, Magnus Macdonald, George Skinner and James Gray.
Moving into the last heat, David Skinner was leading the competition with Liam closing in after strong performances in Heats 6 and 7. Liam finally overhauled his father towards the end of the final Heat and finished the competition with a cumulative bag of 35lb 2 oz.
Some interesting statistics for the 2011 competition:
29 anglers competed throughout the 8 heats.
Fish weighing in excess of 378lbs were taken.
8 competitors ended with bags in excess of 20lbs.
The 2012 competition has already commenced and a report will be loaded shortly together with the remaining dates. It is not too late to join the competition, as each heat is a competition in its own right and as Liam proved, late starters can still win!
