We are pleased to welcome back to Dunlichity, 11 members of the Mayfly Angling Club.
The guys have arrived today and will be fishing with us over the next three days. On Friday 29 June, they will be holding a team competition. As a consequence, the top lochan will be closed for general fishing from 14.00 to 18.00 (the bottom lochan will be open).
We will report on their stay in due course.

Although we are only 2 heats into the 2012 Dunlichity Cup, the competition has already been fierce. 17 competitors arrived on a bright day which led to a variety of techniques being used.
John McFeeley was the early leader with two fish to 5lb 5oz. Neil Pirrie overtook John by one ounce but was then pipped to third place (also by an ounce) by Richard Franklin. In second place with 6lb 14oz was James Watson. The heat winner, with 7lb 11oz (and the largest fish on the day at 5lb 0oz) was Colin Keith. George Swanson won the bottle for the biggest fish outside of the top three, at 3lb 10oz.
This heat victory puts Colin out into the lead in respect of the overall league rankings, with Richard Franklin in second and Ian Young in third.
The third heat is on Saturday 16 June.

16 of Dunlichity Trout Fishery's top anglers braved the elements in mid-April to compete in the fish-off to determine the 2011 Troutmaster Champion. Prizes went to the top five competitors, with the winner receiving £100, a personal trophy and sponsorship towards the UK Fish-Off at Grafham Waters.
32 fish were taken on the day, to a combined weight of more than 130lbs! Hendrick Cornelius (12lb 0oz) and George Noble (12lb 3oz) took 5th and 4th places respectively. Will Jack set the early pace with a bag of 12lb 8oz (including the biggest fish of the day at 8lb 1oz) which was good enough to secure 3rd place. Ist place went to Donald Patience, with a bag of 13lb 6oz, which was good enough to edge George Skinner into 2nd place with his bag of 13lb 0oz.
Dean Geddes also deserves a mention for his two fish bag of 11lb 10oz (but we won't mention the one around 3lbs that he put back!).
Watch out for a later blog to find out how Donald fared at the UK Fish-Off at Grafham Waters.
