2017 Dunlichity Cup

In order to allow the lochan banks a little more time to recover from the recent wet weather, we are beginning this year's competition a week later than normal, on Saturday 8 April.

The full list of dates is as follows:

Heat 1 - Saturday 8 April
Heat 2 - Saturday 6 May
Heat 3 - Saturday 3 June
Heat 4 - Saturday 1 July
Heat 5 - Saturday 12 August (the second week in August to miss Moy / Belladrum)
Heat 6 - Saturday 2 September
Heat 7 - Saturday 7 October
Heat 8 - Saturday 4 November

2016 / 2017 Troutmaster Fish Off

The Fish Off for last year's Troutmaster badge winners will be held on Saturday 20 May.  Invitations will be sent out in the next couple of weeks.

Although the banks are still quite soft, the fishery is open and fishing really well.

In spite of the weather, the last few days have achieved the following catches:

Martin Krop - 34 (All Day)
Donald Patience - 17 (4 hours)
John Morrison - 16 (4 hours)
James Patience - 16 (4 hours)
Mark Fuerst - 12 (4 hours).

Most of the ice has now cleared, and given how quickly the ice burnt off yesterday, we are reopening this morning.

Lochans are frozen and it is snowing so we will not be opening today.

The fishery has reopened this morning.  The ice has gone, and although the banks are wet, they are usable with care.

After a great day's fishing yesterday, during which Willie Stirling caught 22 fish, the lochans have again frozen overnight.

It is a clear morning, and if things improve over next few hours, we will update the blog accordingly.  Otherwise, we will update as soon as the lochans are fishable again.
